The Project Leader of the SWEET - Project is Prof. Dr. Thomas Danne.
He is the Director of the Department of General Pediatrics and Endocrinology/Diabetology at the Kinderkrankenhaus auf der Bult in Hannover, Germany. He is presently appointed as President of the Interantional Society for Pediatric and adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) and of the German Diabetes Association (Deutsche Diabetes Gesellschaft).

The Steering Committee, consisting of 12 members from different institutions will be responsible for the scientific coordination of the SWEET Project. This also includes the scientific organisation of work packages during the planned meetings and the publication related work.

Advisory and Assessment Committee (AAC)

SWEET has establish an outside Advisory and Assessment Commitee (AAC) consisting of 8 members.

The AAC will assess the progress reports and advise on the running and progress of the project in general.This Committee, consisting of representatives High Level Group members, will be closely involved in monitoring the project as it develops, and can come forward with recommendations for improvements. The members will be invited to the planned meetings to incorporate other strategies and communicate the progress of the SWEET project.
